A listing still carries a single price; what changes is how that price is chosen. The new engine knows how Amazon is awarding the Buy Box across locations and prices for the contests worth winning, accepting that one price will win in some places and is worth losing in others. A repricer that treats all Buy Boxes as equivalent is only hurting their margins. Sellers choose the business strategy they want for their business, from conservative to aggressive, and the engine executes on their behalf.
The reasoning is not new to Seller Snap. When Seller Snap launched, most repricers followed rules. It applied Game Theory to marketplace pricing instead, and spent a decade proving that pricing decisions are strategic rather than reactive. The same reasoning applies to a Buy Box now awarded locally: a single national price is an answer to a thousand separate questions.

The repricing engine ran through more than 18 months of testing with real sellers before release. When tested against Seller Snap’s previous engine, sellers saw approximately 10 percent higher profit.
